LARSSON™ + Lyckeby = New Starch Project
Early in the year 2021, we are pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement to supply a full starch line for the highly renowned Swedish potato starch producer Lyckeby that markets its high-quality products around the globe with its well-known Lyckeby Worldwide brand.
We are modernizing and increasing their capacity by 70% at their factory in Mjällby, Sweden, resulting in an additional output of 16,000 tons of commercial starch / year. A total investment of approximately SEK 150 million. Expected to be operational in the fall of 2022.
We have maintained a strong relationship with the Lyckeby Group for the past 70 years and we are very happy and proud to continue our partnership. The process used in their factory today was once co-developed by Larsson™ and Lyckeby and is unique in that we can separate up to 97-98% of the fruit juice without diluting it with water. This gives great advantages further down the protein extraction process. Larsson™ will provide its latest technology and innovations, enabling Lyckeby to meet the increasingly demanding customers of today and the future.
Also very nice to deliver a project close by, only 15 km from our workshop in Bromölla. As we are normally used to deliver in other parts of the world, much further away!
