A Nordic partnership distinctive and successful in the global starch industry
In order to stay in our position as a world-leading manufacturer of machines and process solutions for starch, professional partners are needed.
International Starch Institute A / S (abbreviated “ISI”) and LARSSON have cooperated for decades. ISI in its present form was founded by Lars Thomsen and his son Jens Thomsen in the 1990s in Aarhus, Denmark but Lars have been in starch industry since 1960s. The know-how and experience are very genuine. ISI complete LARSSON while their core business is worldwide supply of turnkey factories for the manufacture of starch and down-stream products like modified starches, glucose, fructose, maltodextrins and fermented products. Corn, wheat, potato and cassava are primary crops.
“The cooperation with ISI has been very fruitful as we are complementing each other in experience and know-how. ISI is representing us in Africa and other areas of the world. We always had a very good relationship with ISI and I am convinced that we will work together for many more years,” says Jörgen Larsson
Jens Thomsen is adding “We as ISI have been active in Africa for now more than 27 years now and have built several plants that use cassava as raw material and make starch and glucose or other downstream products. Making such projects in Africa, where both raw material supply, technology and product sales work in an optimal way is a challenge, but we are glad to see that Africa continue to develop, which gives us hope for the future. Our most recent project in Nigeria, which we commissioned together with the professional team from Crest Agro a few month ago is a good example of a project where the raw material is secured by establishment of a dedicated cassava farm, advanced technology that is robust and designed to run automatically even from our office in Denmark when support is needed, and where of all product is sold out immediately after start-up.”
